Spread the Love: Ceramics Across the States
The Limestone College advanced ceramics class and craft students have been making and selling mugs and ornaments during the fall semester. We sat down to track how far and wide our work made it around the states and beyond. The current count is 22 states and two additional countries! From Washington State, Nebraska, and Florida to Australia and England, works were shipped with care. "I'm so proud of all the hard work my ceramics and crafts kids have done. Students have surpassed their goals and are learning how to market and sell their works. Time management and strong work ethics are essential to become a production potter. It thrills me to see my students put so much time and dedication to not only making works, but marketing, selling and even managing the lab. They have grown into professionals. My heart grows even more knowing that most of my advanced students have returned to push even harder this spring. Students' works were sold to pay for our trip to Italy and Greece as well as mission trips. The advanced level course goals ultimately prepare students for their senior show, graduate school, and even becoming a self-sustaining artist. Ceramics is so special because it's art you can use every day. We hope that when you purchase and receive an LC-made mug, you use it every morning and feel the love that goes into making each piece," states professor Carolyn Ford. If you are interested in purchasing mugs or bowls, please contact Carolyn Ford, ceramics instructor and Chair of the Department, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
